I grew up in South Africa. Both my parents were athletic. My mother played Field hockey, Tennis, Badminton and Squash and my Dad played Rugby, Cricket and Tennis. Having being exposed to sport since I was very young, I got involved in many sports at school and in the small village of Sabie were I grew up. I moved to the US at the age of 26 and being able to play Squash and Tennis helped me meet new people and adapt to a new culture and country.
Pickleball arrived in my life and I fell in love. Now I share the love of this game as a coach and instructor. My Pickleball adventure has developed into a business with the arrival of Covid 19 in 2020. Restrictions on courts at the gym, limited my ability to coach the game of Squash and Pickleball, as the courts were closed for 4 months. It became apparent that Pickleball courts outside are a safe way to continue to play and exercise more safety and thus an opportunity to coach and bring this enjoyable game to many people was born. I have played USTA Tennis for over 25 years and I have coached Squash for the last 25 years at the Westwood Club, the Country Club of Virginia, St. Catherine’s School, as well as Pickleball at acac Short Pump for the past 6 years. I have been fortunate to have studied education at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and had training at Princeton University and the University of Virginia. I am delighted to share my many years of experience and knowledge with you to help grow your game and develop your potential to be the best player you can be.
